10 easy miles in the morning before another long day at work.
The highlight of the run was yelling at a guy who was littering at my apartment complex. I am going to get myself shot one of these days, but I am tired of people whose behavior negatively affects my life.
For example: 3 AM-I am woken up by some drunk guys yelling outside on the street. 5:45 AM-I get the lovely odor of my neighbor's stale cigarettes as I leave my apartment to run, licking this time it hasn't percolated into my apartment. 5:50-aforementioned guy tosses his trash in my "yard". 7:00-At the end of my run a friendly fellow is moring directly in front of the front doors to my building leaving me no choice but to inhale a some of his addiction. 8AM-Uninsured guy gets into fight at bar and earns himself an ER visit, some stitches, antibiotics and 3 expensive CT scans. Result: a medical bill probably in the range of $10,000 that he will surely never pay. The rest of us will indirectly pay for that bill with higher health care costs. I probably don't need to go on to get my point across. Rant over. |
