While wasting time on the internet this week I came across something called the "Uphill Challenge" where some of the top trail/ultramarathoners competed on treadmills to see whho could climb the best. 15 minutes at 15% grade, runner controls the speed. The best guys did something like 1.63 miles. I managed 1.44 miles. Not bad for a first try off of abzolutely zero hill running. Started at 5.5 MPH and gradually moved up to 6.0 MPH. A little faster for the last couple minutes. I'll have to try this one again to see how the improvement goes.
Not a lot of time for running today. The in-laws are in town for for my son's first birthday party today (Birthday is actually tomorrow). |
