If you would like a good read I would recommend you take a look at Duncan's blog. He is currently writing about his 5 day 100 mile stage race in the Himalayas. It is by far the best bit ofwriting that I have ever seen on a blog. He is about 6-8 installments in so you will have to scroll down a bit to start from the beginning. (As a warning, he does not always use family-friendly language.)

That is a cool event. It amazes me how many great races there are around the world. How do you like Chicago? I grew up near Christ Hospital, ~95th and Pulaski. Is the picture one of the forest preserves on the north side?

The picture is from Park Forest 10 Miler. Personally, I am not very fond of Chicago. It was fun for a year or so. Now I am ready to move on. I am tired of running on the same path every day.

That isn't a race I've hit but have heard great things about, definitely one of the faster 10-mile races in the country. We'll have to see if we cross paths at a marathon it looks like we have similar times and aspirations.

Too bad about Chicago for you. When I lived there (over 11-yrs ago now) I did most of my running in the Forest Preserves so I liked being out in the woods. In any case good luck finding a permanent radiology placement and cograts on the bun in the oven. Fatherhood is great. Mine just turned 18-months and everyday is more exciting.

Dallen, thanks for linking to my report. I'm sorry for the language. I blame it on spending 5 years in an all male Infantry Battalion. Like the new blog platform. Good luck as you venture into the sub 2:30 domain and if you ever get there, please tell me how you did it. Cheers.
